<p>The Chief Minister's Political Secretary, B J Puttaswamy alleged that during the six-month period from March to August 2006 when Deve Gowda's son H D Kumaraswamy's was chief minister, members of their family transacted business of more than Rs 101 crore, which he alleged, was amassed through "influence, threat and misuse of power".<br /><br />"This black-money was distributed to the entire family, which floated companies to make it white money in a systematic manner", he said.<br /><br />Meanwhile, JDS spokesperson Y S V Datta said Deve Gowda's family members are having their own businesses and they have the right to do so. He denied allegations of any wrong-doing.<br /><br />The moot question is from which source the money has come to their accounts and whether there was "misuse" of power by government officials, he said.<br /><br />"Are there any documents to suggest that there was misuse of power ?" he said, adding JDS would welcome if Puttaswamy sought Lokayukta inquiry.<br /><br />Puttaswamy, however, said he would submit the documents to the Lok Ayukta and request the ombudsman to conduct an enquiry.<br /><br />The JDS and BJP are locked in a battle of attrition over alleged scams for the past few weeks, with each one threatening to bring out more dirt about the other.<br /><br />Yeddyurappa has come under persistent attacks from JD-S, which has levelled a series of allegations about denotification of lands and allotment of prime urban plots to his kith and kin.<br /><br />The Chief Minister has repeatedly vowed to "expose" JDS and "not to rest" till that party is decimated.</p>
