<p class="bodytext">Coast Guard Afloat Supporting Unit (CASU) was activated by DIG S S Dasila, commander, Coast Guard (Karnataka), on Monday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">CASU is headed by Commandant (JG) M Krishna Bhat, who is designated as officer in-charge, CASU. He is assisted by subordinate officers, enrolled personnel and civilian staff.</p>.<p class="bodytext">CASU will be an added support for the maintenance management of Coast Guard ships, boats and shore-based systems. It will also provide much added impetus the reconnaissance of technical equipment through integrated scheduling and data management.</p>
