Coffee table book on Pejawar seer to be released

Astro Mohan’s coffee table book on the fourth and fifth ‘Paryaya’ of Pejawar Mutt pontiff Vishwesha Theertha Swami will be released at Rajangana here, on April 27.

The photographs in the book titled, ‘A Day with the Saint – Then and Now’, depict the seer’s different activities during Paryaya– in 2002 and 2018.

The moments were captured on the lens by Astro Mohan, a senior photo Journalist. The Publisher Praveena Mohan said the 108-page book has rare pictures capturing the different emotions of the seer – devotion and spiritual besides his involvement in education, culture and social activities and in particular the routine he did on the days of Paryaya.

In addition, the book also has a collection of pictures which were taken on the seer’s 80th birthday. The artistically captured photos, 118 in all, are in colour. The write-ups along with the pictures are both in Kannada and English. These photos have not just captured the moments, but the emotions of a saint as seen by the photographer through his sensitive eyes and lens.

The photos are categorized under four chapters-A Day with The Saint –Then and Now, Electrification of Naxal Affected Village, 80th Anniversary of Sanyasa Deekhsa and Most Memorable Photo Gallery.

The books also includes messages from Karnataka Governor Vajubai Vala, BJP senior leader L K Advani, Union Minister Sadvi Uma Bharati, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Dharmastala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, eminent scholar Dr Bannanje Govindacharya and seers of Udupi Ashta Mutts.

Karnataka Samskrutha University former vice-chancellor Professor Mallepuram G Venkatesh will release the book, the press release stated.
