Bills pertaining to the projects should be submitted before February 26. In case of misuse of funds allotted by the Government, the officials concerned will be held responsible. They will also be held responsible if the funds are lapsed , she warned.<br /><br />She instructed the Deputy Director of the Department of Public Instruction to ensure that toilets were constructed in all high schools in the district. Also, by March-end, drinking water facilities should be provided in all schools. The officials of the Education Department should also inspect and find out if the toilets constructed in the schools were being put to proper use and submit a report in this regard. <br /><br />Rs 3,000 for toilets<br />Deputy Director of the Department of Public Instruction Chandrashekhar said the construction of toilets in the high schools was in progress and would be completed by March-end. Besides, under the same project, each house in the village will be sanctioned a grant of Rs 3,000 for the construction of toilet. <br /><br />Vice-President Chandru Venkatesh informed that the villages which will successfully implement this programme cent per cent, will be declared as ‘Nirmala Grama’. The Kaiwara GP in Chikkaballapur district is the only village to have achieved this honour, he added.By end of March, all the Gram Panchayats in the district should achieve the ‘Nirmala Grama’ title. The officials concerned should take suitable steps in order see that the programme was implemented successfully, he said. The vice-president informed the Director of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies Shridhar that the foodgrains were not being distributed properly in the fair price shops. The concerned officials should take steps to set right these anomalies, he said.<br /><br />Hygiene in hospitals<br />He further instructed the Health and Family Welfare officer to stress on the hygiene and cleanliness aspect at all the hospitals in Chikkaballapur district. There should be adequate stock of all medicines in all hospitals. The practice of asking patients to purchase medicines from private pharmacies outside the hospital premises must be stopped, he said.<br /><br />Scholarships<br />An officer of the Welfare Department informed the KDP meeting that the Department had given scholarships to 302 students with disabilities.<br /> The scholarships for the remaining students with disabilities in the district would be given away shortly, the officer added.<br /><br />President of the Standing Committee on Social Justice A D Avalappa, President of the Standing Committee on Education and Health N Muniyappa, President of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Industries G R Narayanswamy, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat N Krishnappa, Deputy Secretary of the Zilla Panchayat S M Zulfikarullah and several others were present at the review meeting.<br />DH News Service</p>
