Congress leader Ashok Kheny on Sunday bowled a googly saying that BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa should become the chief minister again.
Speaking at a convention of Lingayat employees, Kheny said, “Though I am a Congressman, I still want Yeddyurappa to become the chief minister again.”
“The people should choose a good worker who is committed to the welfare of the people. If not, they will have to regret for the next five years. Yeddyurappa is a good worker. So I will support him,” he said.
Kheny, MD, NICE, also lamented that he could not complete the NICE road because of his caste. “If my name was Ashok Gowda instead of Ashok Kheny, I would have extended the road to Kanyakumari,” he said. Kheny was inducted into the Congress in March 2018 despite stiff opposition from a section of the party. He, however, lost the 2018 Assembly elections from Bidar South to Bandeppa Kashempur of JD(S).
