Congress leaders are sitting in their AC-rooms, unable to see people' sufferings: B Y Vijayendra launches Janakrosha Yatre

Mysuru: BJP state president B Y Vijayendra made a remark that there is a bankrupt government, that is overburdening the people, in Karnataka.

Vijayendra was in Mysuru to launch the ‘Janakrosha Yatre’, against the Congress-led state government, for the hike in price of essential commodities, suspension of 18 BJP MLAs from the Assembly, diverting of funds meant for Scheduled Caste communities and 4 per cent reservation for Muslims in government contracts, on Monday.

He was speaking to the press, after visiting Sri Chamundeshwari temple, atop the Chamundi Hill, before launching the ‘Janakrosha Yatre’.

He also clarified why the movement was beginning from Mysuru, “We are not starting the journey from Mysuru because it is Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's hometown. It is for the blessings of the state deity Sri Chamundeshwari that we are undertaking our journey from here”.

He said, that starting the journey from Mysuru will give great strength to their party.

In response to Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar's statement that there is no public outrage, but only BJP has an outrage, Vijayendra said, “The Congress leaders are under a delusion. Those sitting in air conditioned (AC) rooms cannot see the sufferings of the people.

"All Karnataka ministers are sitting in their AC rooms and governing. That is why they don't know about the sufferings of the people”.

In reply to a question if there is a rift in the BJP-JD(S) coalition, Vijayendra said, “There is not even a bit of discontent in the BJP-JD(S) alliance. Inside the Assembly, during the recent session, the JD(S) and BJP fought together against the Congress-led government. Our alliance is strong”.

Replying to a query on the JD(S) not joining hands for the ‘Janakrosha Yatre’, Vijayendra said, “Both parties are concerned about the problems of the people. While we are conducting our yatre, the JD(S) is also conducting its struggle, because our perspectives may differ.

"There is nothing wrong in this. It is not right to say that there is discontent in the alliance because of this.”
