Congress member's comments against Basavaraj Horatti draw flak in Karnataka Legislative Council

Belagavi: The Legislative Council members across all parties on Wednesday condemned the statement by Congress MLC M Nagaraju Yadav against the Chairman of the House Basavaraj Horatti.

Taking up the issue during Zero Hour on Wednesday JD(S) member S L Bhoje Gowda stated, “We have also seen a viral video of a statement by one of the senior members of the House against the Chairman and also levelled corruption allegations. It should not be a culture or habit. We all must respect the Chair, irrespective of the person occupying the Chair.”

Congress MLC Puttanna opined that it is a matter of concern and said, “We all should be cautious and serious while giving public statements. Such issues should not even be discussed inside the House. Let the chairman, deputy chairman and leader of the House discuss with the member.”

BJP MLC C T Ravi mentioned that, every member should respect the Chair. “The member has all the rights to move no-confidence motion. He should not have made such statements,” he added.
