Congress stages road block

MLAs Ramanath Rai, U T Khader along with more than hundred Congress workers were arrested on the occasion.

As soon as the news of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa taking part in Janandolana rally at Nehru Maidan began to spread, the Congress members led by Ramanath Rai started the protest holding black flag in front of University College in Hampankatta. The Congress leaders who blocked the road for ten minutes were arrested on the occasion. They shouted slogans against the BJP and the Chief Minister.

The DCC also staged a protest by breaking 101 coconuts in front of Mangaladevi temple on Sunday morning.
