<p> <br />A second-time MLA, once identified as leader of the rebel group, Renukacharya is now in grand isolation. His close associates, Beluru Gopalakrishna, Y Sampangi and Sarvabhouma Bagali have left him. And, now he is being termed as a chameleon by his one-time associates. They alleged that it was Renukacharya who launched rebellion against the chief minister and he was the one who ditched them all. <br /><br />Renukacharya and his friends camped in a hotel in Chennai on October 5. They came before the media for the first time on October 7. Renukacharya told the media that they were all angry with the party leadership after Goolihatti Shekhar was sacked from the Cabinet and Beluru Gopalakrishna was denied a Cabinet berth.<br /><br />By that time he had sent his letter withdrawing support to the government as well as his resignation as minister. He had said withdrawal of support was his personal decision and nobody forced him to do so. On October 7, he told the media that he had no intention to destabilise the government. He and his friends would return to Bangalore on Friday. But that never happened. On Saturday, he sang a different tune. He said he and his friends, since they left Bangalore on October, were in custody of “goons” who forced them to sign letters withdrawing support to the government. <br /><br />He also charged the Congress and the JD(S) with arriving at an understanding to form an alternative government and claimed that he was offered the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Others MLAs had been offered huge money. He alleged that “hundreds of goons” took Bagali, Gopalakrishna and others forcibly.</p>
