Customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport on Thursday busted the modus operandi of gold smuggling and seized foreign origin gold 24 KT (in paste form), weighing 314 grams, worth Rs 10.16 lakh, in two separate cases.

The officers seized gold in the form of paste weighing 140 gms, valued at Rs 4.53 lakh, concealed in the inner garments worn by a woman passenger who arrived from Dubai by Air India Express.

The officials also seized gold 24KT (in paste form) weighing 174 gms, worth Rs 5.63 lakh, concealed in the inner garments worn by another lady who arrived from Dubai.
