Dinnekere villagers perform last rites of destitute

In a humanitarian gesture, the villagers of Dinnekere performed the last rites of a destitute.

Ramaiah, a native of Mysuru and aged 80 years had been loitering in Dinnekere village as a vagabond for the past four years.

He survived on the food given by villagers over the years. As he was ill for the past three days, he was admitted to the government hospital. However, he did not respond to the treatment and breathed his last on Tuesday.

The villagers of Dinnekere, along with people from Kooduvalli, conducted the cremation of the deceased at the crematorium in Uppalli, on Wednesday.
