<p>The residents of Bovi colony poured their woes to Sakleshpur assistant commissioner and Nodal officer of drought relief work Pallavi Akurathi who visited the colony in Halebeedu taluk recently. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The people complained that apart from laying pipelines no other work has been taken up under drought relief programme and the residents queuing up in front of the taps is a common scene.<br /><br />Motor pumps have been installed at the Bandilakkanakoppalu roadside and lack of maintenance has resulted in rising water woes in the region. The gram panchayat has turned a blind eye towards the problems and the defunct motor not repaired for more than three months is a proof of this, they complain.<br /><br />Now the residents are coughing up money for autorickshaws as they are fetching water from the Dwarasamdra lake. Teacher M Mahadevappa said that the borewell water at the college campus has high fluoride content and D Patel Rudregowda family are supplying water from the borewell in their compound.<br /><br /> They stressed that water be filled to the water tanks supplying Yagachi river water to benefit the villagers. <br />Gram panchayat president C R Lingappa Premanna, members Gangadhar and others were present.<br /></p>
