The labourers from Assam and West Bengal working in the district should be externed, said members of Tuluvera Janapada Koota.
Speaking to reporters, Koota General Secretary P M Ravi said, "The labourers from outside the state are working in coffee estates in the district and are involved in criminal activities. They should not be allowed to enter Kodagu district."
He said labourers from outside the state are involved in the murder of a college student from Siddapura.
"A large number of labourers from Assam and West Bengal are working in the district. The estate owners and police have no knowledge about them," he added.
