<p>Minister for Science and Technology S R Patil announced on Sunday that the government would provide tablet PCs to 100 farmers of Bagalkot district on a trial basis. This would help them get information on agriculture, health, education and other issues.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Tablet PCs will be distributed to farmers throughout the State, based on the response to the pilot project. <br /><br />The minister was speaking at a function at a city college. He said the children of farmers should update themselves about opportunities in the education sector and know about facilities in various schools and colleges. <br /><br />Software will be installed in the tablet PCs so that the farmers and their children get to know about facilities in the various hospitals at the click of a button.</p>
