<p>Bengaluru: Home Minister G Parameshwara on Thursday said that he had directed the Belagavi police to file an FIR against Madhya Pradesh (MP) Minister Vijay Shah for his derogatory remarks on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and inform the Central government about the case.</p>.<p>Parameshwara said this while speaking to the reporters near his home office in Sadashivanagar on Thursday. Shah’s comment drew widespread criticism not only from opposition parties but also from the public.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said that Qureshi is Belagavi’s daughter-in-law and her husband is from here. “Shah’s remark is not only disrespectful to Qureshi but also to Karnataka and the whole country. We have directed the Belagavi SP to register a case against Shah and write to the Central government about it.”</p>
