<p>Mandya: The number of people, who <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka/suspected-food-poisoning-in-mandya-one-still-critical-others-stable-3449370">fell ill after consuming food</a> prepared in a hotel has crossed 120, including students of a school, in Malavalli, Mandya district.</p><p>Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Baladandi, who visited the spot, examined CCTV camera footage and ordered closure of the hotel. </p><p>A 13-year-old student from Meghalaya died due to suspected food poisoning. One student, who is still critical, is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mysuru.</p><p>Deputy Commissioner Kumara told <em>DH</em> that around 40 students are in hospitals.</p>.44 undertrials fall sick due to suspected food poisoning in Mangaluru district jail.<p>The food samples have been sent to the forensic science laboratory for testing and the report is awaited, the DC said.</p><p>The health department and the Mandya district administration have begun an investigation into the incident.</p><p>A team of police personnel, led by a DySP, has been constituted to probe the incident. Three people, who were arrested on Sunday, availed bail on Monday.</p><p>Gokula Vidyasamsthe at T Kagepura village in the taluk - whose students were served food sponsored by Malavalli-based businessman Pushpendra Kumar - is a recognised day school.</p><p>The management has permission for the school, but have been illegally running a residential institution, it is said. A notice has been served to the school. Block education officer Uma has sought a detailed report. </p><p>Pushpendra Kumar had ordered food for around 150 people from a hotel on the outskirts of Malavalli as part of Holi celebrations on Friday.</p><p>After the celebrations, leftover food was supplied to Gokula Vidyasamsthe in the evening.</p><p>Around 30 people working in the nearby fields also had food at the hotel and have taken ill, police said.</p>
