<p>Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) police seized 119 kg of ganja which was being transported from Andhra Pradesh to Kerala via Mangaluru and arrested four persons.</p><p>Acting on a tip off that a huge quantity of ganja is being transported to Kerala via Mangaluru, the CCB sleuths intercepted a car and a mini truck, in Konaje Police station limits and seized the ganja, said Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal to mediapersons. </p>.Two held for running drug peddling racket in Goa; ganja worth Rs 2.4 lakh seized.<p>While inspecting the car, the police recovered 34 kag ganja. While checking the mini truck, the police found some empty fish trays and also 85 kg ganja packed in several packets. The police have recovered five mobilephones from the arrested.</p><p>The arrested are Ajay Krishnan U, Jeevan Singh, Moideen Shabbir and Mahesh Dwaraknath Pandey. Moideen Shabbir is a notorious offender from Kerala and has 12 cases including murder, arms act, ganja peddling, cattle theft against him. His associate Ajay Krishnan has six cases including theft against him.</p><p>Shabbir was arrested in a case in 2021 where he was acquainted with Mahesh Pandey and Jeevan Singh. After coming out from prison, the duo conspired to transport ganja from Andhra Pradesh to Kerala.</p><p>Stating that Visakhapatnam is a point where ganja is collected from interior Naxal affected areas in Andhra Pradesh, commissioner said that it is later supplied to various parts of the country including Kerala, Maharashtra.</p>
