Four new taluks on anvil, resurvey with drones

The state government will carve out four new taluks keeping in mind geographical and administrative requirements, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy announced in the 2019-20 budget on Friday.

The proposed new taluks are Harohalli in Ramanagara district, Chelur in Chikkaballapur district, Terdal in Bagalkot district and Kalasa in Chikkamagaluru district, Kumaraswamy said while announcing proposals under the Revenue department.

At present, Harohalli comes under the Kanakapura taluk, Chelur under Bagepalli taluk, Terdal under Jamkhandi taluk and Kalasa under Mudigere taluk.

The government will take up resurvey with the help of drones in Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Dakshina Kannada, Mysuru, Gadag, Davanagere, Dharwad and Kodagu districts, the chief minister said.

No new reforms or announcements have been made under the Department of Stamps and Registrations.

Rs 60 crore for mutts

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has set aside Rs 60 crore for various mutts and religious institutions across the state. The Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru has got Rs 5 crore for construction of a prayer hall and the Spatikapuri Mahasamsthana Shakha Mutt in Sonnenahalli of Bengaluru gets Rs 5 crore.
