<p>Belagavi: AICC General Secretary (Ogranisation) K C Venugopal hopes that the 'Gandhi Bharat’ programme to be held in Belagavi on December 26 and 27 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Congress presidency of Mahatma Gandhi will give new message to the country to fight against BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. </p><p>"It will become biggest turning point for Congress movement in Indian political history. We need to take biggest call from Belagavi on how to fight BJP and dictator Modi," said Venugopal.</p>.CWC meeting in Belagavi on December 26-27 to mark centenary of 1924 Congress session; Congress top brass to attend.<p>"We have organised programme on the same day this year. Gandhi got us freedom through ‘ahimsa’ and equality, but they have vanished today during BJP rule and there was no equality, " he said.<br></p><p>Venugopal along with AICC General Secretary in charge of State Randeep Singh Surjewala, AICC Treasurer Ajay Maken, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President D K Shivakumar, Ministers Satish Jarkiholi, Laxmi Hebbalkar, MLAs and MLCs held a meeting with party office bearers regarding the Gandhi Bharat programme at Congress Bhavan here on Tuesday.<br></p><p>"Congressmen have pride that the only session of Congress presided by Mahatma Gandhi was held in Belagavi which had also given message of ahimsa, love and affection and equality. Today all these qualities have been vanished by BJP. We are seeing that rich were becoming richer and poor more poorer. There was no equality in the country. PSUs were being sold off to one person. </p><p>Everything has been going to one person ‘Modani’. Poor and the oppressed classes need protection which has been denied by BJP. ‘Nafrat Ka Bazaar’ was seen being hatred being spread in the name of religion and people were being divided. BJP wants to hijack the democratic process. We want caste census. We want equality which Mahatma Gandhi spoke," he added. <br></p><p>Congress Working Committee meeting will be held on December 26 wherein paper will be presented regarding the current situation in the country and measures to be taken by Congress. </p><p>CWC members, invitees, PCC Presidents, CLP leaders will be present. Rally will be organised on December 27, wherein Congress top leadership will attend. </p><p>"Current political situation will be analysed at CWC, laws brought by BJP to bring its ideology and bulldozing institutions, " Venugopal added. <br></p><p>About One Nation One Election Bill, Venugopal said it was the agenda of BJP intention of ;one nation no election'. </p><p>"To sabotage democratic process they were bringing one nation, one election. Unity in diversity was beauty of country, but BJP does not believe in unity and diversity. It will not pass in Parliament," he said<br></p><p>Meanwhile DK Shivakumar said government has made elaborate plans for the unveiling of statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the premises of Suvarna Vidhan Soudha on December 26, wherein Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and other dignitaries will attend. </p>
