'Gender equality not must on all fronts'

State BJP Mahila Morcha president Bharathi Shetty said on Tuesday that there was no need for equality for women on all fronts as they were not equal to men in some issues.

Defending the BJP’s opposition to the entry of women into Sabarimala temple, she said, traditionally and spiritually, women had some limitations. “Women will not lose anything, if entry is denied to them. Equality in a positive way is welcome. Women have excelled in various fields. That is good. But, under the guise of equality, I will not ask women to go to the bar to consume liquor,” she said.
