<p>Mangaluru: Minister for Health and Family Welfare and District-in-Charge Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the state government's Gruha Arogya' scheme has been successfully implemented on a pilot basis in Kolar and will be extended to all districts in the state by February next year.</p><p>Gruha Arogya is state government’s flagship door-to-door non-communicable disease screening programme. </p><p>Speaking during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the BPH lab building at Puttur government hospital, and for health sub centres at Hirebandadi, Badagannur, Karnur, and Kemminje, Rao said that this year taluk government hospitals will be started in six taluks of the state, including two taluks with BJP MLAs. </p><p>For the development of Puttur Government Hospital, Rs 3.60 crore has been allocated, Rs 50 lakh for the BPH Lab building, and Rs 65 lakh each for the construction of four health sub-centre buildings, totaling Rs 6.70 crore for Puttur. Additionally, Rs 11 crore worth of hospital development work is underway in Dakshina Kannada district. "The tender process for the construction of 17 primary health centre buildings is already in progress," said the minister.</p><p>He emphasised that there is no discrimination in the allocation of funds and no politics in development issues. "While we do 100 per cent of the work and take 10 per cent of the credit, the opposition does 10 per cent of the work and takes 100 per cent of the credit," he remarked.</p><p>MLA Ashok Kumar Rai said that Rs 1,476 crore has been sanctioned for the multi-village drinking water project in Puttur, of which Rs 800 crore has been released. He assured that every household will receive clean drinking water within eight months.</p><p><strong>'Govt prioritises education'</strong></p><p>The state government is focusing on providing basic facilities in schools and colleges and prioritising teacher recruitment to ensure education for all, stated Dinesh Gundu Rao.</p><p>Speaking after inaugurating a mini science centre and annual event at Jagannath Shetty Memorial Government High School in Bondala, Bantwal Taluk, he said significant funds are being released for basic facilities such as classroom construction and playground development in government schools. Teacher recruitment is also being prioritised. He emphasised that students should achieve excellence using these facilities.</p><p>He lauded the performance of government schools. The achievement of good academic results and performance should continue in the future, he said.</p><p>Former minister Ramanath Rai also spoke. The Minister also inaugurated a post matric girls hostel at Bondala.</p>
