Head constable suspended for stopping minister’s car

A police head constable has been suspended on charges of dereliction of duty for stopping minister Sa Ma Mahesh's car from entering the Deputy Commissioner office premises during Congress candidate CS Vijayshankar nomination filing program.

Police Commissioner KT Balakrishna has ordered the suspension of constable Venkatesh as per the recommendation of Assistant Commissioner of Police Gajendra Prasad.

According to the police sources, Venkatesh had stopped the Minister's car near D Devaraj URS Circle when the Minister was heading towards the DC’s office to attend nomination filing ceremony.

Despite the vehicle having permission to enter the DC office, police stopped the vehicle. Following the incident, the Minister brought the issue to the notice of the concerned officials.
