Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde’s remarks on AICC President Rahul Gandhi and KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao have come in for flak.
Senior Congress leader and Revenue Minister R V Deshpande on Thursday termed the remarks “blot on Indian culture”.
He was reacting to Hegde’s jibe of ‘unknown hybrid breed’ about Rahul and ‘a man who eloped with Muslim lady’ about Rao.
“Hegde has the habit of talking recklessly and this is totally against the spirit of Constitution and the rich tradition of the nation. Before making such unethical comments he should have been more responsible” Desphande stated and demanded that Hegde tender an apology.
“Though Hegde is elected to parliament for five terms, he does not know what the development is. When election comes, he often uses religious issues to demean opponents as he has nothing substantial to say. Yet, he attempts fruitlessly to win the people,” he added.
