The statement by Medical Education Department Secretary I M Vittalmurthy ruling out taking back those employees, has irked the agitators. They desecrated the portrait of Vittalmurthy and also raised slogans against him. The agitators have reiterated that they would not call off their stir till they get justice. The agitators have made the stairs of the medical college as their house and have been spending day and night there.
One of the agitating employee, Maheshwari lost her father, Shivalingegowda who died of heart attack. The agitators claimed that he died out of shock. On Saturday, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Raitha Sangha and Lorry Owners Association extended their support. ZP VC S Dyavegowda also came to the spot and supported them. The agitating staff have written to the teaching faulty seeking their support. However, there is no response from them. Although, efforts were made to convince doctors to join the agitation, it did not yield results.
