Kaveri 2.0 system: IIIT experts to analyse Karnataka softwares to spot flaws, says Krishna Byre Gowda

Bengaluru: Following disruptions in the government's Kaveri 2.0 system that affected property registrations and issuance of encumbrance certificates, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said on Thursday that the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), would be asked to analyse the existing technology and prevent future problems.

Speaking to reporters, Gowda said: "After working day and night, the e-governance department has plugged the holes and registrations have been going on since yesterday. They are keeping a watch on it. Also, to see if there are any flaws in our IT system, we are hiring experts from IIIT to analyse it."

The snags, which were reportedly due to a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) cyberattack, had led to the disruption of property registrations for a few weeks. 

"Some elements have misused technology and overloaded the system through bots," Gowda said. 

Responding to a query that those registering their khatas in the sub-registrar's office were not able to get their plots manually, the minister said they would solve all the problems if the properties were registered legally.
