Karnataka CM to consider banning RSS activities in govt places after examining Tamil Nadu model

'We have considered the letter of Minister Priyank Kharge to ban RSS activities in Government places on the lines of Tamil Nadu, seriously. We have asked the Chief Secretary to study the order of Tamil Nadu. Based on that, we will decide about it in Karnataka too,' the CM said.

Mysuru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the State government will decide about banning RSS activities in government places after studying an order in this regard in Tamil Nadu.

He was speaking to media persons in Mysuru on Wednesday.

CM Siddaramaiah said, "We have considered the letter of Minister Priyank Kharge to ban RSS activities in Government places on the lines of Tamil Nadu, seriously. We have asked the Chief Secretary to study the order of Tamil Nadu. Based on that, we will decide about it in Karnataka too."

About the tweet of Priyank Kharge on X on being threatened, he said, "Neither he nor the government will bend to such threats."

When asked about challenges by BJP leaders to ban RSS activities in Government places, he said, "They challenged us in a similar way during previous legislative assembly elections too. But what happened to their situation?"

Date of Caste survey won't be extended: CM Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that they will not extend the date of the caste survey. "Except for Bengaluru, the survey has gone well in all other places. Hence they won't extend the date of survey," he said.

About discrimination in giving funds to BJP MLAs, he said that the BJP led State government had done it to Congress MLAs earlier. But they are not going to do it and they are giving equal aid to MLAs of all the parties, he said.

When asked about the rape and murder case of nine year old child of a nomad family in Mysuru recently, he said, that they will discuss and take measures about giving compensation to the family.
