Karnataka ruled by two CMs: Cong

Hitting out at the ruling BJP in Karnataka, Congress today alleged that the state is being ruled by two Chief Ministers.

"Karnataka is being ruled by two chief ministers. Sadananda Gowda is an ad hoc chief minister and B S Yeddyurappa the de facto chief minister," AICC Secretary Shantaram Naik told reporters at Hubli.

Even during Yeddyurappa's chief ministership, Karnataka was ruled by two chief ministers, Naik alleged. "Shobha Karandlaje (close aide of Yeddyurappa) was the ad hoc chief minister then," he said.

On Gowda's plans to present Rs 1 lakh crore budget in the Assembly, he said the chief minister can very well present a Rs 4 lakh crore budget, for he is not going to be there to implement it. "His continuance in the office is uncertain as the ghost of Yeddyurappa haunts Gowda when he hits the bed every night," he said.

A sulking Yeddyurappa has virtually set a deadline for the BJP leadership to give him a suitable position by January 15.

Naik alleged that BJP had cheated the country's people. BJP had initially agreed to cooperate with UPA government to pass Lokpal and Citizens Charters bill, but took a U-turn at last moment, he alleged.

The Election Commission should derecognise BJP as a national party by cancelling its registration under Representation of People Act for violating the oath taken by their MPs to bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India, Naik added.
