<p>Kadur: Two persons including an elderly man, were injured in a leopard attack in Siddarahalli near Yemmedoddi of Kadur taluk on Thursday. </p><p>Manjappa (56) from Sannasiddarahalli and Moorthappa (55) from Doddasiddarahalli were injured in the attack.</p><p>The injured have been hospitalised in Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga. </p><p>While Manjappa suffered severe injury on his lower abdomen, Moorthappa who was on his way towards his farm on a motorbike, suffered injuries on his left hand. A portion of the hand is severed from the attack. </p><p>Chaotic scenes were created when the gathered villagers hurled stones at the big cat to scare it away. Even though the leopard made its way into the forest nearby, it returned after some time.</p><p>When the forest department officials came to the spot, the villagers vented ire against them and alleged that the leopard captured elsewhere has been released in Siddarahalli. </p><p>A cage was placed to capture the leopard.</p><p><strong>Leopard's body found in lake</strong></p><p>After the leopard attack near Yemmedoddi, body of a leopard was found in Madagadakere lake nearby.</p><p>Deputy Conservator of Forests Ramesh Babu said that wounds have been found on the body of the leopard. An autopsy has been performed and the report is awaited. </p><p>Villagers claim that leopard found dead is different and not the one that attacked the villagers.</p>
