<p>An 8-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 38-year-old man in a sugar cane field at Bachi village in Belagavi taluk on Tuesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Raju Bandurge, a resident of the same village, lured the girl on the pretext of giving her a chocolate and raped her at the nearby sugar cane field.<br />Enraged over the incident, the villagers ransacked Bandurge’s house and pelted it with stones.<br /><br />The suspect was arrested by the police and the victim taken to hospital for medical examination. The Belagavi Rural police have registered a rape case and are investigating.<br /><br /></p>
