The officials carried out the marking of the land for the widening of Raja Seat Road, in Madikeri, on Friday.

Even after the construction of the private bus terminal, the new route for the movement of buses, were not finalised. As a result, the buses plying to and fro to Madikeri have been moving on the same stretch, causing inconvenience to vehicle riders and general public.

The widening of the earmarked stretch will facilitate a smooth flow of vehicles.

City Municipal Council (CMC) President Kaveramma Somanna said that the route has been finalised and the road will be developed. "The public should cooperate", she added.

CMC Commissioner Ramesh said that a grant of Rs 85.62 crore has been earmarked for the third phase of works under Nagarotthana project. A survey of the road from Rajaseat to private bus terminal is being carried out.
