The state BJP on Wednesday said it will lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India on mass deletion of names from electoral rolls.

Addressing a press meet, state BJP general secretary Arvind Limbavali said that the names of hundreds of voters were deleted at the last moment. BJP has started compiling the list of all such voters whose name did not feature in the rolls. In many places including Bengaluru the names of voters were deleted," he said.

The list of voters provided to polling officers was different from the one given to candidates contesting the elections. BJP expresses strong reservations against this tradition, he said. "We will collect information about all the lapses and file a complaint," he said.
