<p>Hubballi: The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has issued three days of heat wave warning for Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada.</p><p>The daily report from KSNDMC states that due to increase in relative humidity (between 40 and 50 per cent) and maximum air temperature ranging from 37°C and 39°C over coastal Karnataka, people would be feeling as if the maximum temperature is in the range of 40°C to 50°C.</p><p>Temperature crossing 37°C during summer is not an abnormal phenomenon in coastal Karnataka. Savanrvada in Uttara Kannada district recorded the highest temperature of 41.3°C on Tuesday followed by Kokkada (40.8 °C), Honnavar (40.7°C), Sulya (40.6 °C) and Uppinangadi (40.4°C). </p><p>There seems to be no respite after the three days as the dry weather is likely to continue over the coastal area for a few more days or till North and North Eastern winds start covering the region. </p><p>“The main reason for high temperatures in the coastal region is because of easterly following wind. The wind crossing through the land is bringing more heat to the coastal area. Added to that, relative high humidity in coastal areas is making one feel more drained out and exhausted,” says N Puviarasan, Central Public Information Officer at India Meteorological Department, Bengaluru.</p><p>However, there will be no large changes in maximum and minimum temperature over the rest of Karnataka. The rest of the districts record a maximum temperature anywhere between 32°C and 38.2°C on Tuesday. Kalaburagi (36.7°C), Yadgir (36.9 °C), Raichur (35.8 °C), Bidar (35.5°C) and Ballari (35.1 °C) are other districts that recorded high day time temperatures.</p>
