Chennamma Circle, the epi-centre of not just vehicular traffic in the CIty, but also of protests during bandhs, hosted some unique protests during the 'Bharat Bandh' on Monday.

Members of Hubballi-Autorickshaw Owners' & Drivers' Association took out a mock funeral procession of effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders. They auctioned petrol and effigies at very low price. They also conducted mock last rites and burnt the effigies.

Members of AITUC, CITU, TUCC, SUCI(C) and other trade unions displayed empty LPG cylinders during their protest rally. They also expressed their anguish over hike in fuel prices by pulling a tractor.

Some pro-Kannada activists, condemning the hike in LPG cylinder price, prepared tea using firewood as fuel, near the MP's office, and at the Chennamma Circle.

Autorickshaw drivers from Keshwapur took out a rally of autoricklshaws condemning the hike in fuel prices. Youth taking out bike rallies and raising slogans were a common scene.
