'Naveena did not qualify for PSI post'

Srinivasa Reddy, father of J S Naveena was quoted as saying in these columns that the latter had passed the written examination but was asked to pay a bribe of Rs 30 lakh and that he was not able to pay more than 15 lakh. Additional Director General of Police (Recruitment and Training) in a press release has stated that Naveena, on successfully qualifying in the endurance test and physical standard test, appeared for the written examination in November 2009.

The records reveal that she did not qualify for the interview on the basis of her performance in the written examination. The ADGP has also stated that the allegation of demand of Rs 30 lakh bribe will be inquired into.
