<div align="justify">Ahead of the Mysuru Dasara, the district administration is planning to extend the service of ‘Trin Trin’, India’s first public bicycle sharing (PBS) system, which was launched in June by Chief Minister Siddarmaiah, for the benefit of tourists and also the citizens of the city, in view of checking air and sound pollution.<br /><br />Deputy Commissioner D Randeep has asked Green Wheel Rides, which is managing ‘Trin Trin’ to take measures to provide more number of bicycles during Dasara as tourists flow will be high.<br /><br />“We have been working out plans to accommodate more bicycles as advised by the DC. The officials have mooted establishment of temporary docking station at prime locations in the city and also to station more number of cycles in existing stations, to meet the demand. Everything will be finalised after holding a discussion with the DC and Mysuru City Corporation authorities,” said Green Wheel Rides Information Technology (IT) manager S M Sagar.<br /><br />Sagar said, the DC has asked them to explore whether the bicycle services can be extended to Dasara gold card holders, which will be sold by the district administration among the visitors. <br /><br />“At present, 3,600 plus people have registered for ‘Trin Trin’. Every day, nearly 100 people use the bicycles to reach their destinations in the city. According to sources, the district administration is planning to restrict vehicular movement in select places to promote cycling and walking,” he said.<br /><br />Membership duration<br />“The minimum membership duration is for one month, which discourages the tourists from becoming members. As a large number of people visit the city only for a couple of days during Dasara, we are also thinking to reduce the membership period so that tourists can utilise the facility at nominal prices.<div align="justify"><br />“A first-time user has to register at a registration centre or through the PBS App or through the website by one-time payment of Rs 350 (including refundable security deposit of Rs 250). One should collect a smartcard from the registration centre, pre-loaded with usable value of Rs 50. A user can then go to any docking station, tap the smart card at the docking station port and ride the cycle. The registration centres are established near KSRTC City Bus Stand, Mysuru Railway Station, KSRTC Sub-Urban Bus Stand, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden and Mysuru Palace,” he said.<br /><br /><br /></div></div>
