The public has expressed displeasure at the Puttur Rural Circle Inspector for allegedly driving a jeep on the flooded Hosamata bridge near Kadaba on Sunday evening.

As the water was flowing on the bridge, the movement of vehicles was snapped as a precautionary measure. The Home Guards were guarding the bridge, to ensure that no vehicles pass through.

However, the circle inspector got the gate opened and drove his vehicle even while the public warned of the possible danger. A video of the jeep moving on the flooded bridge has gone viral on social media.

Reacting to the incident, Inspector Gopal Naik said, “I had to travel to Kadaba for an official work. The water level had receded when we passed through the bridge.”

SP Ravikanthe Gowda has promised to look into the issue.
