Probe sought into DKS' role in Nice land allotment

JD (S) National President H D Deve Gowda, on Tuesday, sought an inquiry into the role of Energy Minister D K Shivakumar in the sanctioning of land to NICE.

Briefing reporters, Deve Gowda said, Shivakumar was the chairman of the official committee on Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor which sanctioned land to Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises.

Gowda said the State Legislative Assembly had already constituted a committee to probe into the irregularities in allotting additional land to NICE.  “Will the committee probe into the role of the minister in sanctioning the additional land?” he asked, without taking the minister’s name.

Gowda said he had no objection talking to leaders who were upset with JD(S). On November 15, the president of the State unit will be appointed and this will put an end to speculations, he said.

The disgruntled leaders should introspect and if their real intention was to build the party, they should then talk to him, he said. Gowda said there was an “undeclared Emergency” in the country because of Modi regime.

Haryana’s former chief minister Omprakash Chautala had come out of jail on bail to participate in a public programme. The turnout at the event was very large. This disturbed the BJP, and the CBI went to court to ensure that Chautala’s bail was cancelled, he claimed.
