By November the recruitment process will be over,” Kumarnayak added.<br /><br />Distribution of books<br /><br />The cards and work books under the Nali-Kali scheme would be supplied to all the students in the I and II standards by the first week of July, noted Kumarnayak who said that children’s who joined government schools didn’t attend pre-nursery and nursery classes like, montessori, LKG, UKG and others. <br /><br />Hence Nali-Kali which has been developed differently from the rudimentary form of imparting education has been implemented in these schools,Kumarnayak added.<br /><br />Good ration<br /><br />The student-teacher ratio is quite satisfactory, expressed Kumarnayak who said that 1 teacher to every 30 students was the expected norm. <br /><br />However, there are instances where there were 1 teacher to every 20 students, he added.<br /><br />Stating about the efforts being made to draw the children to schools, Kumarnayak said that last year many teachers were recruited to fill the vacant posts in the schools. <br />Further efforts had been made to open schools within distance of one km from the residential localities, he added.<br /><br />However, the commissioner evaded giving a direct answer when the scribes questioned the lack of action against those private schools which were conducting tuition after class hours and were also found collecting fees and selling uniforms, textbooks, notebooks and other educational materials.<br /><br />The Commissioner instead said that parents who were harassed by the private schools could complain to the committee head by their respective Deputy Commissioners.<br /><br />He said that committee could then serve a notice or conduct an inquiry and cancel the recognition of the school if it was found guilty of harassing the parents.<br /><br />Co-ordination<br /><br />Department of Education General Secretary Nadaduru who inaugurated the discussion said that teachers should act in co-ordination in issues pertaining to transfer. <br /><br />The official urged the teachers to adopt proper channels to sort to their differences. He added that there were plans to conduct an adalat or start an administration discussion to solve their problems.</p>
