Two swimmers from Puttur Aquatic Club (PAC), Sweekrith Anand and Trishul, are among the 12 swimmers representing India in the two-week long World Life Saving Championship organised in Adelaide, Australia from Thursday onwards.

Sweekrith Anand and Trishul are being accompanied by their team manager Rohith. Both Trishul and Sweekrith Anand had demonstrated their talent at the selection round in Indore, earlier this year. The team had performed well by winning the individual championship in the master category. Thrishul and Sweekrith Anand of PAC club were trained at Dr Shivarama Karantha Balawana in puttur as well as St Aloysius College swimming pool in the city.

Both Anand and Trishul were introduced to life-saving activities by coaches Partha Varanashi and Niroop. Thrishul, a second PU commerce student from St Philomena PU College in Puttur, is representing National Youth Team and Sweekrith Anand, a competitive swimmer, is representing National Open Team.

Sweekrith and Trishul will take part in a series of races held in beaches as well as in the sea. They include 'Mannequin carry', 'beach run', 'surf race', 'board race' and 'lane throw' among others.
