Ramdurg tense over pro-Pak posts on FB

Activists of various organisations staged protest in the town on Saturday, demanding arrest of the Congress party workers who allegedly posted pro-Pakistan posts on social media.

Activists holding the national flag staged a rally in the town and also removed a flag that had been hoisted near Chamanshawali dargah. Police resorted to caning to disperse the mob. Tense situation prevailed in the town and police have been deployed to thwart any untoward incident.

Activists of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Sri Ram Sene participated in the protest rally.

In a complaint filed with the Ramdurg police late on Friday night, BJP Yuva Morcha general secretary Ranganath Hugar said that Mohammad Shafi Benne, from whose Facebook account the alleged pro-Pakistan posts have been made, was a supporter of Congress leader and former MLA Ashok Pattan and should be arrested.
