Bollywood playback singer Neha Kakkar said she sees the trend of recreating old melodies, in a positive way.

She was in the city to perform at the ‘Mangalore Thumakda’, Imperial Blue Super-hit Nights at Nehru Maidan on Saturday.

Speaking to mediapersons at Hotel Taj Gateway, she said it was true that initially there was a kind of resistance from the audience towards recreated songs. “But when good old melodies are given a new touch, many people started liking it,” she said giving example of her own recreated song ‘Dilbar’.

Stating that she is one of the biggest fans of singer Arijith Singh, Neha said she likes soulful songs.

‘Hurt by remarks’

Reacting to the rumours related to her personal life, Neha said she was hurt by the remarks made on her. Neha said she didn’t mind if someone who dislikes her spoke to her directly.

The singer said she was happy to be part of the film industry which values her work. She said she believes in herself and was not intimidated by other singers at all.

As a part of the Imperial Blur Super-hit Nights at Nehru Maidan, Neha rendered hit songs like ‘Aankh Mare’, ‘Nikle Current’, ‘Dilbar’, ‘Kala Chasma’ and ‘London Thumakda’.
