Owners of the sites assembled in the layout on Wednesday saying Reddy and his supporters had built a compound around their sites, even though they possessed all the documents to show that the sites rightfully belonged to them.

Yerriswamy, owner of one of the sites, said: “The land belonged to actress Ramya Krishna’s maternal grandfather and it was converted into a layout and sold. Now suddenly, a compound has been constructed around the layout and we are not being allowed to enter inside.” He added that the owners met Sriramulu and he had promised to look into it, but nothing had been done.

Another owner, K Bharathi, alleged that those who had approached the court in this regard were assaulted and threatened. “The remaining are now scared to seek legal help. Complaints to the district administration and police have also not yielded any result,” she said.

The owners added that they had earlier approached then deputy commissioner B Shivappa and Superintendent of Police Seemanth Kumar, but both the officers had advised them to approach Janardhana Reddy to sort out the issue.

“We have not been able to meet Reddy. But we have submitted another appeal to the present Deputy Commissioner A A Biswas. But if no action is taken, we will have to consider violent forms of protest,” they said.
