<p>New Delhi: The Centre on Monday informed Rajya Sabha that total 105 projects amounting to Rs 2,573 crore have been taken up by Mangaluru Smart City under the centrally sponsored Smart Cities Mission (SCM).<br><br>Replying to BJP member Narayana Koragappa, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu said that “As per the information provided by Mangaluru smart city, as on March 4, 2025 a total 93 projects amounting to Rs 2,425 crore have been completed.</p>.NGT stays Mangaluru Smart City work.<p><br>So far the Mangaluru smart city has claimed central financial assistance amounting to Rs 453 crore and the Karnataka Government has released corresponding state matching share of Rs 463 crore. On the requests received from the state government, the Centre has extended the Smart City Mission up to March 31, 2025 for completion of its all ongoing projects.<br><br>The major projects under the Smart City Mission taken up in Mangalore including restoration of the collapsed portion of the existing stone revetment of Nethravathi river bank , smart road from NH66 near Jeppu to Morgans gate including construction of Railway Under Bridge, construction of indoor stadium for kabaddi and shuttle badminton near Urva market, setting up Command and Control Center, rehabilitation of Central market and improvement to existing football ground and waterfront area development projects.</p>
