<p>Harish (14) of Doddatekehalli village in Shidlaghatta taluk in the district has been returned to his parents.<br /><br />Bosco Mane’s representative Mahesh, Chikkaballapur town’s Jachani First Grade college principal Chowdappa, PU College’s Sadashiv and Vapasandra Raju helped the boy return home.<br /><br />Born into a very poor family Harish unable to bear poverty ran away from home and worked in Bangalore and other places as a daily wager. However, after some time he was not able to get work anywhere he was found roaming in Bangalore’s City railway station. <br /><br />Volunteer Mahesh who noticed the boy walking aimlessly caught him and took him to Bosco Mane. But the boy had not revealed his village’s identity and instead told them that his house was next to Jachani college in Chikkaballapur.<br /><br />Mahesh took the boy to the college. Principal Chowdappa, Sadashiv and Vapasandra Raju managed to convince Harish to tell the truth. <br />Later, they called the boy’s parents from Doddatekahalli and handed him over them.<br /><br />Tried to hide truth<br />He had tried to conceal the truth as he did not want to return to his family suffering from extreme poverty. Harish has studied only up to seventh standard and quit school. Chowdappa said that the boy should be made to return to school.<br /><br />Similar to Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan, Madhyamika Shikshana Abhiyan has been started to admit back students who have left school. This boy should be made to join back school under this scheme by the officials. The students should be given free accommodation and food, urged Vapasandra Raju.<br />DH News Service</p>
