<p>Mysuru: The seeds are being sown in <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/mysuru">Mysuru</a> to float a national movement aimed at restoring peace and harmony in India under changed social circumstances.</p><p>According to Sabiha Bhoomigowda, chairperson of the welcome committee of ‘Sadbhava’, the national movement, a preparatory meeting will be held on Wednesday, 25 June, at the Youth Hostel in Gangothri Layout, Mysuru city, from 11 am to 5 pm, to lay the foundation for the forthcoming movement. On the same day, at 6.30 pm, a public event will take place at Kirurangamandira on the Karnataka Kalamandira premises, on Hunsur Road, Mysuru, to release the movement’s poster. The movement is expected to take shape in Mysuru, with the aim of initiating a national drive to restore peace and harmony.</p>.Visually impaired children perform yoga in Mysuru.<p>Gandhians, intellectuals, theatre personalities, and artistes from across the country will participate in the preparatory meeting. Notable among them are Gandhian and national convener of Bapu-Ke-Log, Vijay Pratap from Delhi; national president of the Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA), Prasanna; working president of IPTA, Rakesh Ved; Kerala-based intellectual Balan; former minister P. G. R. Sindhia; Gandhian Saroj Tulsidas; and actor Prakash Rai.</p><p>Sabiha Bhoomigowda, who is also the former vice-chancellor of Vijayapura-based Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University and a writer, said: “This initiative aims to resolve human conflicts — between people, communities, and religions — with love and harmony, in unison with nature and the environment. It is an effort to overcome war, violence, suspicion, and arrogance through the Gandhian path. The movement distances itself from power politics, corruption, bribery, and greed. Instead, it intends to embrace the simple lives of children, mothers, elders, and the poor as a lesson and an alternative to today’s complex market-driven life.”</p><p>While Sindhia, who is also the Karnataka State Scouts and Guides Commissioner, will release the poster in Kannada, Saroj Tulsidas will inaugurate the event. Vijay Pratap will release the poster in Hindi, and Rakesh Ved will release it in English. Prasanna, also former director of Mysuru Rangayana, will present the Sadbhava theme song. The troupe of the Indian Institute of Educational Theatre (IIET) will stage a play titled <em>Pippigondu Peepi</em>, directed by Prasanna.</p>
