Six resolutions passed at 87th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana

Mandya: Six resolutions were passed at the 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, which concluded in Mandya on Sunday.

It was decided to press the state government for comprehensive implementation of the Kannada Bhaasha Samagra Abhivruddhi Adhiniyama (KBSAA), 2022. A resolution was also adopted to urge the state government to bring about an amendment to appoint the Kannada Sahitya Parishat President as the Vice-President of the state-level committee to effectively implement KBSAA.

It was also decided to urge the state government to effectively handle pending court cases that are related to jobs for Kannadigas.

A resolution was further adopted to implement the recommendations of the Sarojini Mahishi report as a policy or law.

Another resolution urged for the holding of the scheduled 'Vishwa Kannada Sahita Sammelana' at Davangere at the earliest by roping in the Kannada Sahitya Parishat.

The final resolution even urged the Karnataka government to declare a 'Rashtra Kavi' soon.
