JD(S) floor leader H D Kumarswamy on Tuesday said the State needs to brace for a mega campaign war between the two national parites - the BJP and the Congress.

At the inspection of the Palace Grounds, where the JD(S) is scheduled to have a mega youth rally on Wednesday, Kumarswamy said the BJP is said to be spending Rs 125 crore on campaigning in the State, with the ruling Congress party likely to spend Rs 100 crore for Karnataka.

“All these campaign gimmicks and expenditure to woo voters, along with the issues related to the youth and the farmers will be discussed threadbare at the convention tomorrow,” said Kumarswamy.

Kumarswamy said that the BJP, in fact, was keeping the next three months just for campaigning more aggressively for their prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

The JD(S) is expected to have close to 60,000 bikers in the City for the convention.
Kumaraswamy said that the party is expecting the bikers to come to the venue and be present at the convention in an orderly manner.

“I would like to tell the partyworkers to ride safely and not cause any untoward incidents while arriving to the venue on Wednesday,” he said.
