'State not affected by naxals'

He was speaking after dedicating various services of city police, at the parade grounds of Police Commissioner’s office here.

The Minister said, law and order in the State has been rated best along with several other States, at a meeting of Home Department. Also, the State is ahead in detecting crime related cases. The State Home Department has received budgetary allocation of Rs 253 crore. Out of the funds, 25 police stations including traffic have been dedicated and 30 more will be dedicated next year.

Acharya said Traffic Management Centre (TMC) will be established at a cost of Rs 120 crore in  Bangalore by the end of this year. It would also be a first such effort towards managing the growing traffic in the city. He regretted about unscientific road humps being laid in the State without meeting any required norms.

Moreover, the engineers concerned have failed to identify such humps and initiate measures to check recurrence of their construction.
