Addressing the concluding day of Krishi Mela, the Minister said the biggest challenge facing farmers in the State is support price.
“Hailing from a farmers’ family, I’m well aware of the farmers’ plight. The biggest setback they have is with regard to Minimum Support Price and proper storage facilities,” he said.
With rising demand for alternative fuel, the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) proposal to plant bio-diesel generating saplings along the railway lines and wasteland across the State was interesting. “We will take up the proposal for the State immediately. We need to use every possible measure for generating the alternative fuel,” said Muniyappa.
