<p>Narasimharajapura (Chikkamagaluru): As many as 450 Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) will be established in the state in the next academic year, School Education & Literacy Minister S Madhu Bangarappa said.</p><p>Speaking to media persons at the Taluk Congress office at Narasimharajapura on Friday, Madhu stated that the Asia Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned Rs 2,000 crore for developing the schools. The chief minister has been requested to grant an additional Rs 500 crore in the budget. In all, Rs 2,500 crore will be utilised exclusively for the infrastructure development at the KPS, the minister said.</p><p><strong>Teacher appointments</strong></p><p>Stating that 5,000 teachers will be appointed for the Kalyana Karnataka region, Madhu Bangarappa said in addition, 20,000 more teachers, including physical education and Hindi teachers will be recruited.</p><p>“The process of filling up the posts of teachers in aided schools which had been vacant for the last nine years has been initiated,” the minister said and assured that transparency will be maintained in the recruitment process.</p><p>He said that demands have been pouring in from MLAs across the state to sanction LKG, UKG and PU Colleges in government schools. Measures will be taken accordingly, he added.</p>
